Welcome from the Dean

As the interim Dean of Campus and Community Relations, I welcome you to Ohio University Southern. The Southern campus has served the tri-state area of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia for over 65 years, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve our students, our campus, and our community. As I think about the campus’s past and present, I am confident in the value of a degree from Ohio University Southern and about the promise of success for our students. I am also excited for future possibilities and potential partnerships that can help the campus grow and meet the needs of our ever-changing workforce and that can help elevate the economic and cultural development of the tri-state area.

One of the greatest features about the Southern campus is the variety of programs we offer. There are approximately 30 associate and bachelor’s degrees in technical and workforce areas as well as the traditional liberal arts. Our programs prepare students for careers in a variety of fields in business, education, nursing, communications, criminal justice, health services, social work, electronic media, environmental engineering technology, equine studies, and history. Our students have found jobs immediately upon graduation in local schools and universities, area hospitals and medical facilities, mental health and counseling services, local businesses, public service, and community action groups. Many students have continued their educations in various graduate studies and law programs. The Southern campus strives to meet the needs of our traditional and non-traditional students and to support the community.

As a regional campus of Ohio University, Southern prides itself on providing a quality, practical education at an affordable price. We distribute different types of scholarships and have expanded the Pell grant program to aid students in their education. At Southern, our experienced and highly educated faculty and our talented staff members are dedicated to serving the students and the community.
