The Raymond A. Lancaster Executive Leadership Speaker Series

In 2021, the Walter Center received a generous endowment from Betsy Lancaster in honor of her late husband, Raymond A. Lancaster. This gift reflects Raymond's commitment to lifelong learning and his desire to provide fellow Bobcats with robust executive experience opportunities. This gift has allowed the Center to host an annual speaker series featuring national speakers and key thought leaders, offering students an additional avenue for learning and inspiration. Walter Center Eco Challenge

The Walter Center Eco Challenge shows our commitment to driving sustainable change on campus and in the community. Students work in teams of 5-7 to address real-world sustainability issues, collaborate with stakeholders, and present business pitches. The teams receive guidance to assess the impact of their projects, and present their final ideas to a panel of judges, with the goal of having their project adopted and implemented by Ohio University or the Athens community. Walter Center Etiquette Dinner

Our annual Etiquette Dinner unites students from all our leadership programs for an evening dedicated to mastering the nuances of professional dining and social interactions. This signature event equips students with essential etiquette techniques for formal dinners and cocktail hours, giving students a competitive edge in the corporate world and various professional settings.

LEAD LIVE

In spring 2024, we introduced LEADLive - Where Leaders Unwind. This distinct and innovative chat series provides students a laid-back and casual setting to engage with faculty, university leadership, alumni, and executives. By having relaxed and compelling conversations, students can obtain valuable insights from experienced leaders, creating an environment of learning and motivation in a relaxed atmosphere.

Leader Games Challenge

In 2024, the Leader Games Challenge competition was launched to celebrate National Leadership Day. This competition brings together teams from across the university to take on intense challenges that enhance strategy, teamwork, and communication skills. Participants will engage in meticulously designed scenarios that test their leadership abilities, promoting growth, collaboration, and excellence. Your team must develop a winning strategy, navigate diverse challenges, and balance time efficiency with maximizing point accrual. Are you ready to take on the challenge?
