Scholarships Awarded by the Psychology Department
Due to the benevolence of former faculty and students, the Psychology Department is able to award a number of scholarships to outstanding Psychology majors.

Undergraduate Scholarships & Awards
David J. Kucharski Memorial Graduating Senior Award
The David J. Kucharski Memorial Graduating Senior Award was established in 1990 to honor the memory of David Kucharski, who was killed in an automobile accident shortly after joining the faculty of the Psychology Department.
This monetary award is given to a senior undergraduate major to defray the costs of applying to graduate school. An announcement about the application process is made during the fall quarter of each year.
David A. Johnson Undergraduate Research Travel Award
The David A. Johnson Undergraduate Research Travel Award was established in 2000 to honor the retirement of David A. Johnson, who served as the assistant chair for undergraduate studies for more than 10 years.
This monetary award is given to an undergraduate major to defray the costs of attending a conference for the purpose of presenting the student's research. An announcement about the application process is made during the fall quarter of each year.
Margret Appel Honors Research Award
The Margret Appel Honors Research Award was established in 2007 to honor the retirement of Margret Appel, who served as the assistant chair for undergraduate studies for over sixteen years.
This award is given to an undergraduate honors psychology major to help defray the cost of conducting research for the honors thesis.
Outstanding Graduating Senior Award
Each year, the Psychology Department selects one graduating senior to receive the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award.
