Kate Gothberg
Hometown: Piqua, Ohio
Expected Graduation: Spring 2023
Kate became interested in engineering after doing Electronics 4-H projects in high school. After touring OHIO’s campus, she fell in love with the red-brick buildings and the welcoming community of Athens. When she took “Intro to Electrical Engineering” her freshman year of college, she knew that EE was the major for her. She also decided to minor in Mathematics after enjoying her calculus classes.
Outside of Engineering Ambassadors, Kate is a math and engineering peer tutor at the Academic Achievement Center on campus. Her role has not only improved her analytical thinking and communication skills, but has also led her to meet and encourage many underclassmen in the Russ College. In the summer of 2021, Kate was an Engineering Intern at Kaney Aerospace in Dayton, Ohio.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, competing in jiu jitsu, and obsessing over her cat. Kate hopes to enter the public sector after graduation.
