Maxeen Ramlo
Hometown: Hudson, Ohio
Expected Graduation: Spring 2022
Maxeen chose mechanical engineering because of her passion for learning about commercial air flight and her dream of improving it to be more sustainable. Throughout her time at OHIO, Maxeen has been able to narrow down her focus through the help of professors, classmates, and experiences in the classroom. She loves that OHIO has a lot of hiking trails and her favorite part of campus is the cherry trees every spring.
During summer 2021, Maxeen was a DAAD RISE Scholar where she worked to create a simulation for the orientation of short fibers in injection molded thermoplastics. She also continued her work in the mechanical engineering labs at Ohio University.
In addition to being an Engineering Ambassador, Maxeen is the Vice-President of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society; the president of Pi Tau Sigma, the international mechanical engineering honor society; a Supplemental Instruction Leader; and a Learning Community Leader.
Maxeen also enjoys listening to music, hiking, kayaking, and traveling. After graduation, she plans on attending graduate school to study materials engineering.
