Ohio University Libraries is happy to celebrate Moms Weekend with a floral and fun activity of bookmark and button making on Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Alden Library’s fourth floor. Enjoy this free, and open to all, creative event for a fresh start to the spring season.

Plant and flower images from the Libraries’ very own Archives and Special Collections will be used to create the special mementos along with other florals. Wildflower seed bookmarks will also be available while supplies last. Participants are encouraged to stop by and make a quick craft or sit for a bit and get crafty.

Kelly Roder, events and exhibits coordinator, mentioned that with the success of the sibling's weekend button making event, she wanted to try something new and give the beloved activity a new twist.

“I hope that students can use this [event] as a fun time with their moms and as a way to give their moms a type of flower that will last longer than a ‘real’ flower,” Roder said. “Whether it's a button or a bookmark, students and their moms can keep it as a memento. It will also be a great way to welcome the spring season.”
