Vern Alden Celebrates 95th Birthday 

On April 7, Vernon Alden, the 15th president of Ohio University (1962-69), celebrated his 95th birthday. To honor the man for whom Alden Library is named, Ohio University Libraries created this video to help share Alden’s incredible story.

“200 Years of Shared History: The Bicentennial of Ohio University Libraries” traces the Libraries’ history from the Academy building to today’s Alden Library with over three million volumes, electronic resources and world-renowned special collections.
