CHSP Anthem Microgrant
The purpose of this microgrant is to provide support for the College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP) to expand access to primary care, behavioral health, and women’s and infant health services in underserved, rural areas of Southeastern Ohio, specifically the 32 counties designated as Appalachian.
Eligibility: CHSP Students
Award level: Up to $1000

Application: Applicants must complete an online application at Anthem Microgrant application.
Application deadline: Rolling - however you must apply BEFORE and get approval before the internship begins. Applications will be accepted until all funds have been allocated.
CHSP Dean’s Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award
This award recognizes a graduate student for outstanding work in the field of Research, Scholarship, or Creative Activity.
Eligibility: CHSP Graduate Students

CHSP Dean’s Outstanding Undergraduate Student Research Award
This award recognizes an undergraduate student for outstanding work in the field of Research, Scholarship, or Creative Activity.
Eligibility: CHSP Undergraduate Students
Award level: This is an honorary award

CHSP Student Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Grant
To assist graduate and undergraduate students within the College of Health Sciences and Professions cover direct project-related expenses such as materials, supplies, and participant costs associated with student research, scholarship, and creative activity.
Eligibility: You must be enrolled full-time (during fall and spring) in the College of Health Sciences and Professions and an investigator of a research project, scholarly work, or creative activity. You are eligible to apply for a maximum of one research grant per academic year.
Endorsement: A College of Health Sciences and Professions faculty advisor must verify and endorse your request. An email will automatically be sent to your advisor after you submit an application.
Award level: Grants will be funded as long as funding is available. Only one (1) research grants up to $1000 (not to exceed actual research costs) per student per academic year. Only one student researcher will be funded (not multiple students) per research project.

CHSP Student Travel Grant
Purpose: To assist graduate and undergraduate students within the College of Health Sciences and Professions cover costs associated with travel to a professional conference for the first or presenting author of a paper or poster presentation.
Eligibility: You must be enrolled full-time (during fall and spring) in the College of Health Sciences and Professions. You must be (a) the first author or (b) the primary presenting author. You are eligible to apply for a maximum of one travel grant per academic year. Travel must occur prior to June 30 of the academic year in which you are applying. Only one student author will be funded (not multiple student authors) per poster/paper or per research project.
Endorsement: A College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP) faculty advisor must verify and endorse your request. An email will automatically be sent to your advisor after you submit an application through this portal.
Award level: Grants will be funded as long as funding is available. Only one travel grant up to $750 (not to exceed actual travel costs) per student per academic year. Only one student author will be funded (not multiple student authors) per poster/paper.

Gary S. Neiman Graduate Student Research Award
The purpose of the Gary S. Neiman Graduate Research Scholarship Award Fund is to provide a full-time, degree-seeking, College of Health Sciences and Professions graduate student with resources to support an approved research project including travel expenses to professional meetings, the purchase of equipment required to complete the project, and other necessary costs associated with completing the research and/or presenting the findings at a professional level.
Eligibility: To be eligible, the student must meet all of the following criteria: (a) be a full-time, degree-seeking, graduate student enrolled in or accepted for admission to an eligible academic program within the College of Health Sciences and Professions; (b) be a full-time major at the time funds are spent; (c) eligible academic programs include accredited graduate programs housed in the College of Health Sciences and Professions, and (d) have a research mentor who is faculty within the College.
The funds may not be used after the awardee has graduated and must be spent by the last day of April 2025 at the latest.
Endorsement: A College of Health Sciences and Professions faculty advisor must review and verify and endorse your request. An email will automatically be sent to your advisor after you submit an application.
Award level: At least one recipient will be chosen and receive up to $500 for the 2024-25 academic year and the funds will be available for use after the first day of fall semester 2024. Depending on the availability of funding, more than one award may be made.

2024-2025 Community Engagement Grant
The purpose of this small grant is to encourage a College of Health Sciences and Professions service-learning class or student organization to provide service to the local community while benefiting personally from service-learning activities.
Eligibility: A College of Health Sciences and Professions service-learning class or a student organization is eligible to apply (during fall and spring).
Endorsement: A College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP) faculty advisor must endorse and supervise your activities. An email will automatically be sent to your advisor after you submit an application through this portal.
Number of grants: Grants will be funded as long as money is available. Only one (1) community engagement grant of up to $300 (not to exceed actual costs) will be given per class or specific class student organization per academic year.
Award period: AY 2024-2025
Application: Applicants must complete an online application at Community Engagement Grant Application.
Application deadline: March 3, 2025
