Our Mission

The purpose of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Club is to educate and expose medical students to the field and practice of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The objectives of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Club are for its members to acquire a better understanding of the skills, practices, and knowledge required to be a successful physiatrist; to gain valuable hands-on experience with procedures specific to PM&R; learn about the diverse multidisciplinary team required for successful rehabilitation.

Services Provided

Once a semester the club will go out to a public area in Athens and pick up any loose trash in the area. The club will also work with other organizations like emergency medicine and surgery and sports medicine on larger projects to help the broader Athens community.

  •  Dr. Daniel Black PM&R and Sports Medicine (Athens) (fall)
  •  Dr. Niehaus Q&A (fall)
  •  Dr. Brian M. Jennings (late fall, early spring)
  •  Panel of Therapies w/ speech, OT, PT, PM&R doc (November/Winter)
  •  Third/Fourth year event with Dr. Niehaus & PGY-2: Ben Burnhamm (Cleveland) (Feb/March)
  •  Insight into PM&R Residency (early Spring/February)
