Our Mission
The mission of the Student American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (SAOAO) is to serve as a resource for students to network, collaborate, and learn from each other. SAOAO aims to educate and represent osteopathic orthopedic surgeons of the future. The SAOAO offers student memberships to established local chapters of orthopedic clubs at each nationally accredited osteopathic school. The SAOAO chapter at HCOM Cleveland aims to provide first and second year medical students experiences related to orthopedic surgery.

Services Provided
The SAOAO aims to educate and represent osteopathic orthopedic surgeons of the future. The SAOAO chapter at HCOM Cleveland is planning on taking part in philanthropic efforts along with the other surgery clubs to raise money for Super Heroes to Kids in Ohio.
Tentative Schedule for 2024-2025
The SAOAO at HCOM Cleveland frequently collaborates with other clubs on campus including Surgery and Sports Medicine Club, Association of Women Surgeons, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, as well as Emergency Medicine Club. Some common events held are suture clinics, scrub clinics, casting clinics, orthopedic surgery resident panel, and much more. Financing for these events comes from our local dues.
