Our mission

The Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Club aims to foster interest in the fields of eye, ear, nose, and throat medicine by providing educational opportunities, clinical exposure, and mentorship. Our mission is to support medical students in exploring careers in ophthalmology and otolaryngology through guest lectures, skills workshops, research guidance, and networking with professionals in these specialties.

Services Provided

The Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Club supports medical students by providing educational resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities focused on these specialties. We host specialty panels, workshops, and study sessions to enhance students’ knowledge and prepare them for competitive residency applications. Additionally, the club fosters a supportive community by connecting students with physicians, residents, and peers interested in ophthalmology and ENT.

Tentative Schedule for 2025-2026

Fall Semester
   
   1. Welcome Meeting & Specialty Overview – August 2025
   An introductory meeting for new members to learn about the Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Club’s mission and upcoming opportunities.
   
   2. Specialty Insights: Life as a Physician in Ophthalmology and ENT - Octobor 2025
   A panel discussion featuring practicing ophthalmologists and otolaryngologists who will share their experiences, training pathways, and advice for aspiring students.
   
   3. Networking Event – November 2025
   An informal mixer to connect students with physicians specialized in ophthalmology and ENT.
   
 Spring Semester
   
   1. Residency Panel: Navigating Competitive Specialties - January 2026
   A Q&A session with current residents and fourth-year students applying into ophthalmology and ENT, offering guidance on building a competitive application and choosing a specialty.
   
   2. Fundraiser - March 2026
   A student-led initiative to raise funds for future club events, including workshops, guest speaker honoraria, and outreach activities.
