Statistical Core for Health and Medicine (SCHM)

The Statistical Core for Health and Medicine (SCHM) provides statistical and research design services for students, faculty and staff of the College of Health Sciences and Professions and the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. The shared statistical core aims to expand productivity and collaborative efforts in clinical and translational research.

Prior to seeking statistical support, review the following description of the services which are and are not provided. A statistician will be assigned to your project within two business days of your statistical support request and will contact you within one week. Allow two to three weeks to complete the required work. More complex analyses may take more time.

Services Provided
  • Assist with study design and develop research hypotheses
  • Review surveys or questionnaires
  • Conduct power analyses
  • Review IRB and IACUC protocols (research design and statistical methods)
  • Provide written statistical analyses for grant submissions
  • Conduct statistical analyses, summarize study results using summary reports, graphs, and tables
  • Assist in writing manuscripts (statistical analyses and results)
  • Review manuscripts, presentations, posters (statistical analyses, results, and presentation of results)
  • Teach individuals how to clean and organize their data
  • Assist in manuscript revisions related to statistical analyses

  • Teach individuals how to conduct analyses
  • Altering graphs, tables and figures for publication quality
