Benefits Open Enrollment Scheduled to Start the week of April 11, 2022

The annual Benefits Open Enrollment period is held each year in the Spring. This years’ Benefits Open Enrollment is currently scheduled for April 11, 2022 through May 4, 2022. Any enrollment changes made during the enrollment period will be effective July 1, 2022. 

Open Enrollment is the one time each year you can enroll or make changes in your health care benefits. Otherwise, changes may only be made if a qualifying family status change has occurred. Open enrollment will be held online through Self Service Benefits, as it has been done in previous years.   

Plan cost sharing including deductible, copays, and out-of-pocket maximums are remaining at their current levels.   

Due to the impact of rising health care costs, Faculty and Staff PPO medical plan premiums are scheduled to increase between $20 to $36 per month for single plans and $71 to $127 per month for family plans depending on salary level. AFSCME 1699 medical plan premiums will increase to reflect 15% of the overall premium, as agreed to in the AFSCME 1699 bargaining agreement.

Premiums for dental and orthodontia plans will decrease slightly. Full details regarding premium changes will be included in open enrollment materials which will be distributed at the start of Open Enrollment.
