CVS Caremark expands pharmacies included in the Maintenance Choice Program
All University PPO health plans include the CVS Caremark Maintenance Choice Program. Effective April 1, 2024, CVS Caremark will expand the Maintenance Choice Program nationally to include Kroger and Costco affiliated pharmacies. With this addition, the Maintenance Choice Program will include the following options:
- CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy
- CVS Pharmacy retail locations
- Kroger Pharmacy Locations
- Costco and Costco’s Mail Service Pharmacy
CVS Caremark Maintenance Choice Program members will continue to receive two 30-day supply fills of ongoing, maintenance medications at a retail pharmacy. Thereafter, members are required to transition maintenance medications to 90-day supply prescriptions through the CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy or a CVS Pharmacy retail location.
Certain medications such as specialty medications, schedule II drugs, or drugs with manufacturer or FDA supply limits may be exempted from the Maintenance Choice -Home Delivery Program. Members should contact CVS Caremark directly at 1-888-964-0089 about specific medications or for assistance with the Maintenance Choice Program.
