I want to share the progress that has been made in academic areas as we begin preparing for a phased return to our campuses from remote work and instruction.
As we move into the summer months and continue delivering courses and engaging with students virtually, I wanted to update you once again on plans for our fall semester.
To protect the educational experience of our students and service to our region, I have approved, with solemn contemplation, the decisions implemented today by our deans and academic leaders.
We must now take actions that will deeply impact our institution – in particular people who have been our respected and valued colleagues.
While much is unknown at this time, rest assured that we will continue to teach our students and serve our communities regardless of the impact that COVID-19 may have in the fall semester and beyond.

Ohio University encourages students, faculty, and staff who are approved to be on-campus to follow CDC guidance on protective masks in all areas of campus.
Ohio University will continue to deliver all classes on all campuses through remote and online instruction through the summer.
Today we are pleased to share that we have developed a flexible, alternative grading system as well as additional adjustments to key academic policies for Spring Semester 2020.

OHIO recently announced the initiative to provide remote work for student employees and has published a list of resources and best practices for supervisors to use when providing meaningful work.
All supervisors of student employees must reach out to their student workers by Monday, March 23, with remote working opportunities.
Ohio University faculty and staff who hold active campus parking permits will have payroll deductions for parking fees suspended, effective March 16, until further notice.
