Foundation Accounting
The Ohio University Foundation is responsible for the safeguarding and stewardship of philanthropic funds received for the benefit of Ohio University. The Foundation Operations office performs the following functions to manage these funds:
- Receiving and depositing all contributions
- Establishing separate accounts and monitoring expenditures to ensure gifts are spent in accordance with donor intent
- Providing accounting and financial reporting services for the Foundation, as well as consolidating the Foundation’s financial activities with that of its subsidiaries
- Making information available for internal and external parties interested in the Foundation’s endowment, investment performance, and overall financial condition
Ohio University Endowment
The University’s endowment is an aggregation of assets invested by the University to support its educational mission. This endowment allows donors to transfer their private dollars to public purposes with the assurance that their gifts will serve these purposes for as long as the institution continues to exist. The investment of this endowment is governed by the General Endowment Fund Investment Policy [PDF]. Foundation Accounts
Foundation accounts must adhere to the University Foundation Expenditures policy when spending funds. To deposit funds to an already established Foundation account, the Foundation Deposit Transmittal form (Excel) should be used in accordance with the University Deposit of Funds policy.
