Employee Perks & Discounts - Rental Cars

Ohio University has rental car agreements that extend discounts to university employees for leisure (personal) travel. You CANNOT access these discounts in Concur. You must go through the rental car company online portal or call the rental car company directly to take advantage of these discounts for personal travel. You can find the information necessary to take advantage of these personal discounts on the Employee Perks and Discounts page on the HR website.

• Enterprise/National - University employees, students and retirees are eligible to use the leisure code to rent a vehicle from Enterprise/National for personal travel. The following regulations apply to these rental programs and the rental car companies validate this by asking for photo ID. You MUST Be at least 25 years old to rent a vehicle using the leisure code and there are no exceptions to this rule. You cannot reserve a car for personal travel in Concur, you must set this up through the rental car company directly. You can do this by visiting the Enterprise/National website available on the Employee Perks and Discounts webpage.
  • Note about insurance when traveling personally: You will have to provide proof of insurance or purchase the additional insurance when renting a car for personal travel whether traveling domestically or internationally.
• Hertz - When reserving your rental car for leisure travel through Hertz, you MUST select leisure travel in the portal when reserving the rental car. You cannot reserve a car for personal travel in Concur, you must set this up through the rental car company directly. University employees, students and retirees are eligible to use the leisure code to rent a vehicle from Hertz for personal travel. The following regulations apply to these rental programs and the rental car companies validate this by asking for photo ID. You MUST Be at least 25 years old to rent a vehicle using the leisure code and there are no exceptions to this rule. Vendor will apply upcharges on personal rentals for drivers 21-24 (which can be substantial). This will exclude damage waiver and liability coverages, available for purchase at the tie of rental.
