Reserving and Paying for Rental Cars
Enterprise/National and Hertz Rental Cars
If you need to book a rental car you can do so through Concur using the University preferred supplier contracts for Enterprise/National and Hertz Car Rentals. However, in order to access the University discounts related to these contracts and have the charges direct billed to the CTA card, you must make the reservations through Concur or CBT directly. If you book directly on the rental car site, you must present a credit card at check-in for the charges because the rental companies will not bill the CTA card for anything booked on their portals. So please be careful when you book rental cars, especially for university guests, because if you don’t do it through Concur or CBT, the guest will be required to provide the rental car company a credit card and the rental company will bill the card that was physically presented.
Other Rental Car Companies (Only If You Cannot Find an Enterprise/National to Book Through)
There are other rental car companies available to book in Concur, because we recognize that not every place the university travels will have an Enterprise/National or Hertz location. If you find yourself in this situation, just please be aware that you will be required to present a credit card for payment at check-in. This is because we have no arrangements with any other rental companies to make payment via the CTA card.
Insurance Guidelines on Rental Cars
- Renting from Enterprise, National, or Hertz
- Domestic – you do not need to purchase any additional insurance because the University already has coverage in place.
