Data Management Plans (DMPs)

Many federal funders, including the NIH and NSF, require all submitted grants to include a Data Management Plan (DMP). Additionally, all federal agencies require data from federally funded research to be publically accessible at the time of publication. University Libraries provides an overview of DMPs (opens in a new window), information on DMP expectations for specific funders (opens in a new window), and a three-part Research Data Management Guide (opens in a new window). The Guide also includes information from OIT on properly securing data and DMP templates and guidelines. Ohio University researchers can use DMPTool, a free online platform, to create, modify, and save DMPs for their research projects.
