Data Management Plans (DMPs)

Many federal funders, including the NIH and NSF, require all submitted grants to include a Data Management Plan (DMP). Additionally, all federal agencies require data from federally funded research to be publically accessible at the time of publication. University Libraries provides an overview of DMPs (opens in a new window), information on DMP expectations for specific funders (opens in a new window), and a three-part Research Data Management Guide (opens in a new window). The Guide also includes information from OIT on properly securing data (opens in a new window) and DMP templates and guidelines (opens in a new window). Ohio University researchers can use DMPTool, a free online platform, to create, modify, and save DMPs for their research projects.

Templated Grant Language

ORG has compiled templated language to use in grant proposals. Investigators should tailor the templated language to reflect the specific aims of their research project. In addition, ORG strongly recommends that investigators directly contact the department, institute or center to obtain more in-depth information to enhance the description, particularly if a specific resource is integral to the research proposal. Email ORG to submit templated language for the website or provide updated language for an existing resource.

The following templated language is available:
